John Loftus, Elite Runner and Coach

EJ

BIO: John, age 52, is a nationally ranked distance runner and RRCA certified coach. In 2009 he placed first in his age division at both the Carlsbad 5000 (16:40) and the prestigious Boston Marathon (2:43:34) within a two week time frame. He coaches a full spectrum of runners, from US Marathon Olympic Trial qualifiers to those with a goal to improve their overall fitness and enjoy running more fully. His training programs are individually tailored to enable runners to reach their full potential.

TESTIMONIAL: "Dr. Katahdin has helped me (and runners I coach) on numerous occasions to keep small injuries from becoming chronic injuries so that consistent training can continue. I call Dr. Evie the Miracle Doctor .. MD for short ;-) ....because often it takes just one or two treatments to see results. She has also assisted by providing nutritional guidance for optimal healing, better training and race day performance. She is a great asset to our athletic community!"

Ernest "EJ" Johnson, Pro SUP Racer

KenJones

BIO: For most people, taking 2nd at the International Championships (Stock SUP) would represent the pinnacle of a well run professional career, but for EJ it only served as inspiration to work harder and push for more. Johnson, a former body builder and professional downhill skateboard racer, is well known in the SUP community for his strength, endurance, and reputation as one of the sports most intriguing professionals.

Testimonial: "Go see Dr. Evie! She has completely changed my aching joints and muscles! I tear down my body on a consistent basis - racing and training in the awesome sport of StandUpPaddle - and need the edge to recover and regain my strength. With her treatments, I have noticed a 40% improvement in pain and healing! She has a great facility in Costa Mesa, with a cool vibe as soon as you walk in her tranquil office. She is also such a soothing, gentle soul with great compassion. Stoked to have found her!"

Charlie Nickell, Ultra-Marathon Runner

jenny

BIO: In 2006, Charlie abandoned corporate America to concentrate on family and health. In his quest for physical fitness, Charlie began running, quickly increasing his daily distance from 6 to 13 miles. After completing a half-dozen street marathons, he transitioned to trail running with training runs lasting between two and five hours. Charlie has completed approximately 20 ultramarathons and trail races between 32 and 50 miles without a DNF (Did Not Finish). He will be racing in this July’s San Diego 100-Mile Endurance Run along with the INKnBURN team of ultrarunners he manages. As a freelance writer, Charlie covers the SoCal ultra scene for the therundown.net, and also is regularly published in ULTRARUNNING magazine. Responsible for performance apparel maker INKnBURN’s business development, Charlie supplies one-of-a-kind, high-end performance shirts to serious endurance runners and race directors.

Testimonial: "As a competitive ultramarathoner accustomed to 100-mile training weeks and 50-mile mountain races that take more than 13 hours to complete, inflammation, fatigue and muscle recovery are part of my life. Having seen numerous physicians to combat various injuries and conditions, I can emphatically state that Dr. Evie Katahdin has proven to be the only equalizer for maintaining my overall health for maximum performance. Now that I’ve received treatment from The AthletiZen Clinic, I can’t imagine running sunrise to sunset without them. I recommend Dr. Katahdin to any endurance athlete concerned about their performance, structural health and mental well being."

Mari Russell, Top Ranked Triathlete

mari

BIO: Mari is a motivated athlete and enjoys the personal challenge of pushing her body to the limit. She is an accomplished marathoner and triathlete who regularly finishes in the top of her division. Her marathon PR is 3:25:54 and Ironman 70.3 PR is 5:44:39.

TESTIMONIAL: "It wasn’t until I became nauseated during the Boston marathon and posted my worst time ever that I thought about seeing a nutritionist. It wasn’t the first time I became nauseated during a race, so it was important to find out why. I heard about Dr. Evie Katahdin from my training group and scheduled an appointment. After a consultation with Dr. Evie and extensive blood tests I found that I was lacking some important nutrients and amino acids that were affecting my performance. I was prescribed a balanced amino supplement that I’ve been taking for the past 18 months or so. I haven’t become nauseated during a race since that fateful Boston marathon. I’ve set a new PR at the last two Ironman 70.3 races. Thanks so much for your help!"
