Dr. Evie Katahdin

dr. evie katahdin

Evie Katahdin, ND, MSOM, LAc
Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist

Bio: Dr. Evie Katahdin is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist in Orange County, CA. She earned her BA in Psychology at Michigan State University in 1995, spent a few years “finding herself” and all those pesky math and science prerequisites in Michigan and Colorado, and began her medical education at The National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR in 1998.

In her second year of Naturopathic Medical school she trained for her first triathlon and found acupuncture to be such a phenomenal treatment modality for athletes that she decided to work toward a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine concurrently with her doctoral program.

Opening her practice in Newport Beach in 2004, Dr. Katahdin made great contacts with swimmers and triathletes through her husband Bernie, a world-class swimmer. She began running marathons and specializing in the care of endurance athletes upon moving to California.

Through the years she has developed very specific individualized protocols for the prevention and treatment of exercise-induced conditions that are not available anywhere else in the natural health arena. She finds her work and success with athletes from beginner to elite very rewarding, and plans to someday literally write the textbook on Naturopathic Sports Medicine.

Dr. Katahdin lives in Irvine with her husband and two young sons, juggling being SuperMama and SuperDoctor.

Dr. Katahdin will be on maternity leave from July 21- October 1. In her absence, Dr. Grace Soltynski will be providing Acupuncture services on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Dr. Suzanne Tang will be providing Naturopathic care, Nutrition, and Acupuncture services on Fridays. New patients should schedule their first visit with Dr. Tang unless exclusively interested in Acupuncture.
